    Hello guys,

    Yesterday we discussed about risks that a project may face.

    Can you mention some of the risks that you guys have ever faced that had the potential to make the project a failed one.

    Please also discuss ways you used to mitigate the negative impact of the project

    # In one of our projects for UNMISS Security Gates Our Company had faced a risk that had a potential to make the project a failed one (Time wise).

    * The Risk

    The risk came from the community members in the project area. The community members insisted hard on us that we should use employees only and only from their community. Our project requires Welders, Skilled Masons, Skilled Carpenters, Skilled bar benders and helpers. Unfortunately all we can find from the community was helpers only.

    * Solution

    We tried to communicate with the community leader, at first he insisted we should follow the rules of the community but after a thorough discussion and arguments we persuade him that we can only use Helpers from his Community and add skilled labor from our company.

    Matter solved and We finish our project on time

    This is a good way of mitigation risks in projects. If community members a certain location where a project feel neglected or thier input not considered starting from where a project is at a concept stage, they could be antagonistic to the smooth implementation of the project.
