Such systems make it possible to learn from experience and improve programme and project performance. Monitoring and evaluation is therefore an essential function for all organisations, programmes and projects, and consequently international and public-sector organisations. 

This course is to keep a view on the evolution of the project and to know whether the project was successfully implemented. 

The monitoring part is to look at the bench marks of the project implementation and helps to know whether those goals were achieved. 

While th evaluation looks at the results of the project and the impact of that project to know whether the project translated into the change intended.
